Children Today is a Chester-based charity that provides much-needed grants for vital specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities up to the age of 25 – helping to change the lives of families across the UK since it was founded in 1994.
Often children and young people with disabilities remain excluded from a lifestyle which other people may take for granted. They want to join in and take part in the same sorts of activities or lifestyle, within their capabilities, as other children. They want to gain more independence from their parents as they get older, but are often prevented from doing so. By providing funds for vital equipment (from powered wheelchairs to adapted trikes and a lot more), Children Today aims to help give these children and young people more independence and the best possible quality of life.
Children Today relies entirely on voluntary donations and receives no funding from the government or NHS. It is donations made by the charity’s generous family of supporters which enables Children Today to provide these essential funds for families across the UK.
